- Gabriel Heatter. Two airfields have been captured on Iwo Jima. Admiral Nimitz declares we have killed four Japanese for every one Allied troop. We have bombed Tokyo, Japan three times in one day. Hirohito may have to be moved to an air raid shelter away from Tokyo since the bombs have reached the Emperor's palace. Field Marshall Montgomery said we're going into our final round in Europe. Marshal Joseph Stalin declares early victory is in sight. Our forces are now 15 miles from Cologne. There is more self-government for the people of Italy today. Russians have captured important German prisoners in Pozen today. On the home front, curfew begins at midnight. American is hurting in manpower to work war industry jobs. May need a labor draft. Tonight a labor bill is being formed. Sixty million jobs will be needed after the war
- Walter Winchell. Two hundred bombers have attacked Tokyo; some of the bombs fell on the grounds the Imperial palace. The RAF has been devastating Berlin with bombing for six nights in a row. Edward J. Flynn, the New York Democratic leader, has gone to Moscow to stabilize relations between Russia and the Vatican. Joan Fontaine will marry producer, John Houseman, in June. James Dunn and Edna Rush, both actors, will be married some time next week. Honeymoon between Martha Gellhorn and Ernest Hemingway is over. The third bombing raid in one night has happened in Tokyo. Sgt. Joe Louis, heavyweight champion of the world, and his wife, Marva, are going to be divorced. A shake-up in the Japanese cabinet, maneuvered by Dr. Heinrich Stehmer, is about to explode. Dr. Stehmer, the Nazi ambassador to Japan, is given credit in Berlin for arranging the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Nazi Gestapo is starting to burn its secret papers. Russian's plan to end the war from the eastern front. Japan is beginning to lose the Philippines due to chaos. White House will only accept unconditional surrender. Argentina is amassing troops on Chile's border. Argentina's military is following Nazi plans and want a Munich in Mexico City
- A speech to a joint session of Congress describing the results achieved at the Yalta conference and his plans for peace. President Franklin D. Roosevelt met with British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Marshall Joseph Stalin. If there is an unconditional surrender, it is to be followed by a temporary joint occupation of the country. France has been invited to be a fourth council in the control of Germany, to be a member of the United Nations, to be a permanent member of the International Security Council, and to join in counseling the liberated areas. They would like the European countries to have free governments. He moves on to future plans to win the war against Japan and reports where the American military currently stands in the war in Asia. He call for only an unconditional surrender from Japan. On the way back from the Yalta conference, he met with the rulers of Egypt, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia. The conference was the beginning of a permanent structure of peace. National Anthem plays

The 9th Army has reached the bridge outside Hamburg. 1st Army Canadian troops joined up with the 9th American Army yesterday. The American 1st army in the south has captured a town. General Eisenhower has warned the German civilians not to flee across the Rhine because they would be endangered by the fighting. The American 3rd army has captured five towns. Bombing in Berlin has continued for the 20th day. Germany sent bombers to Britain for the first time in nine months. They were immediately detected and stopped. Russia is blockading German troops in East Prussia. Finland declared war on Germany. Bombs attacked Tokyo. Allied supply planes landed at the airfield in Iwo Jima with supplies and evacuating wounded. They are within 500 yards of the Northeast post. American amphibious troops have landed on two Philippine Islands controlling the western approaches of the Luzon port
