Summary
The march of time: Conclusion of a dramatized version of how General Mark W. Clark's victory in North Africa. The news from Africa is that Rommel's forces are in continued retreat. Grant Parr interviews two soldiers in Cairo who took part in the recent victory in North Africa. Helen Hayes reads "Terry and the stars," a new poem by Gene Fowler. At end of program, the beginning of Your Esso reporter begins with war updates. Weekly war journal: Edward Tomlinson reports from Chicago with news of the defense of the Americas and updates from Latin America. Dean Dickerson reports from San Francisco about the Pacific front and gives an update on the amount of Japanese ships sunk since the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Major General Paul B. Malone gives his perspective on the Pacific fighting. Also includes a war summary from the Don Lee studios and the opening to Irving Caesar's "Songs of safety."
