William J. Bowen of Pittsfield, Ohio, navigator Lt. David C. Robb of Oak Park, Illinois, and flight engineer is Lt. A.A. He will not win his demand for a 10 cent royalty on every ton of coal mined. He will not call a strike. Prediction no. 2: the Red Army is 30 miles from Berlin. The Red Army will attack Berlin from three directions very soon. Prediction 3: The Japanese Navy. The Japanese fleet is not fighting. "Bushido" will for the Japanese navy to fight the U.S. Navy in a huge battle...and the Japanese will lose. Shaping peace in the world: Following the international meeting in Yalta and the Pan-American conference in Mexico City, and a United Nations conference in San Francisco, the governmental leaders of the world will shape a plan for peace. B-29's are carrying USA flags over Tokyo and Singapore. Marines advance on Japanese islands. General Patton's troops advance toward Koblenz, Germany. Reporter feels, "These are seven of the greatest days in the history of the war." General Millard F. Harmon is missing. Secretary Stimson made a startling comment that the full fighting force once, having defeated Germany, should then be shipped to the Pacific theater. He discusses a possible attack strategy against Japan. Japanese morale is desperate. Advertisement for Lumberman's Mutual Casualty Company. [Recording ends.]

It may be over any day now. Rome: Pope Pius received German ambassador, Ernst von Weizsäcker, and American ambassador, Myron Taylor. Capitol Hill: Senator James Mead, New York, will oppose New York Governor Tom Dewey in 1946. Dewey may run for the Senate and not the Governorship. Manila: MacArthur is in disagreement with the State Department about the independence of the Philippines. MacArthur wants the Filipino people to have their independence right now. New York: Margin trading has been stopped on the stock exchange, just as he had predicted. State Department held a press conference. Joe Grew explained why De Gaulle has refused to meet with Roosevelt in Algiers. Berlin cut rations to civilians again and prisoners. Capitol Hill: Independent Bankers Association has endorsed the Bretton Woods Agreement. The agreement comes before Congress this week. Bismarck, North Dakota: Governor Aandahl gave a personal promise to Governor John Moses before Moses died, that Aandahl would not appoint the isolationist Senator Gerald Nye to replace Moses in the Senate. He probably will appoint Norman Brunsdale. [Recording ends.]
