- Summary
- March of time. Americans have taken over their first town in Germany. The army officer in charge is portrayed as being very, very hard on German civilians. A new war song, "The Ballad of Roger Young," by Frank Loesser, is sung. The story of how Roger Young won the medal of honor is told. Major Andy Anderson hasn't seen his sweetheart in 3 years. He stayed in the Philippines after it was conquered by the Japanese. He is called, "The Greatest of Guerrillas." Gunner Paul White, a combat photographer in interviewed (from New York City). He's the first soldier back from Iwo Jima and describes the fighting
