- Close-ups of the news. Admiral Nimitz has met with success in Japan. The Navy carriers under the command of Admiral Mitscher and Admiral Spruance are taking Japanese Islands one by one: Iwo Jima, Bonin Islands, and the islands just outside of Tokyo bay. We have taken all of Bataan, Philippines. MacArthur is about to re-take Corregidor. American prisoners are being held on the Island of Mindanao. They raise and harvest their own food. Beginning reconstruction will be difficult. Filipinos are cooperative by the leadership of President Osmeña, Colonel Romulo, and Vincente Lim. Asian countries will want to be invited and involved in the United Nations Conference in San Francisco. Asia for the Asiatics must come from the United States. Communism is also marching its way into Asia. Editorial on how to rule humans. At the Yalta Conference, Roosevelt's approach was as a compromiser rather than a proclaimer of principle
