He has earned the awards of Congressional Medal of Honor, DFC, Silver Star with one cluster, The DFC with 6 clusters, The Air Medal with 14 clusters ; American Defense ribbon, the American Theater and the Pacific Theater ribbon with 5 stars, and the Presidential Unit Citation. Recalls when Air Force planes were used offensively and they sunk 85 - 90,000 tons of Japanese naval vessels. Coordination between ground forces and air forces is important
